Questions, answered plainly.
The basics
Is this AI?
No. Lead Duck is not AI, just automated. Nothing your leads see is written by AI. Every message is pre-written and approved by you. Nothing makes things up, and nothing says something you didn't sign off on.
Will you get me more leads?
No, and we won't pretend to. We don't run ads or buy leads. We work the leads you already get, so fewer of them go cold before your team reaches them.
Do you close the deal for me?
No. Closing stays with your team. We keep them warm until you call, and hand them to you when they reply or book. Your people do the selling.
What exactly do you guarantee?
**Speed of the first answer. Every lead from a connected source gets its first answer within 60 seconds of reaching us, by email right away and by text during federally allowed hours*. A text held for quiet hours isn't a miss, and neither is an outage at a carrier or another provider. This covers speed of the first answer only, not bookings or sales. *During federally allowed hours: 8 AM to 9 PM in the lead's time zone. Some states, like Florida, Oklahoma, Maryland and Washington, are stricter, so leads there are texted 8 AM to 8 PM.
Setup & texting
How long until it's running?
Your email follow-up goes live in about a week. Every lead gets an email within 60 seconds from then on, even before texting is approved. Texting turns on once your business is registered with the phone carriers (this is called 10DLC registration). That approval is outside our control. We start the paperwork right away so it can run while we connect your sources. Questions during setup: support@leadduck.net.
What's 10DLC, and why do I need it?
It's the carriers' registration system for businesses that send texts from a regular 10-digit number. Without it, texts get filtered or blocked. Registering means your messages actually arrive. We handle the forms. You may need to give us a few business details like your legal name, website and EIN (no EIN? We can still register you as a sole proprietor).
What do the texts say?
Short, friendly, and in your voice. A sample: "Hi Sam, this is Northline Roofing. We got your request about a roof. Alex will call or text you from (555) 010-0198. That number is a sample. Reply STOP to opt out." We write yours with your business, your service, and your number. You approve every message before anything goes out, and you can change it anytime. Email support@leadduck.net.
How long do you keep following up?
Follow-up runs until the lead books, says no, or asks us to stop. Any reply stops it and hands the lead to you. That follow-up is for leads from your website or our hosted form. Leads from other sources get the first answer, then we hand them to you.
What happens when a lead texts back?
Automation stops for that lead for good, and you get a text and an email with what they said. You take it from there on your own phone. Any later texts from that lead are forwarded to you.
Which lead sources can you connect?
Your website forms (WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix and more), our hosted form, lead emails from Angi, Thumbtack, Google Local Services and Jobber, Facebook lead ads through Zapier or Make, and missed calls to your business line. If it can send an email or a webhook, we can usually connect it. Not covered: texts to your existing phone line, Facebook or Instagram messages, and walk-ins.
When do leads get a text?
Every lead gets an email within 60 seconds, even before texting is approved. Texts go out during federally allowed hours*, and only after the carriers approve your registration. If a lead comes in outside that window, the email still goes right away and the text waits until those hours open. You still get a text and an email right away. Reply STOP, and they're never texted again. Reply DONE, and follow-ups stop. We also give you consent wording for your forms. We don't give legal advice, and we don't promise that these habits make a business compliant. We build the careful version in. *During federally allowed hours: 8 AM to 9 PM in the lead's time zone. Some states, like Florida, Oklahoma, Maryland and Washington, are stricter, so leads there are texted 8 AM to 8 PM.
Business
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Monthly is $697 a month, plus a one-time $397 setup fee, and you can cancel anytime. Prepay 3 months at the same $697 a month and skip the setup fee. Prepay 6 months at $697 a month, skip the setup fee, and get 2 months free. You pay when you sign up. Setup starts right after, and your term counts from that day. We'll email you 30 days before a prepaid term ends.
Will this replace my office staff?
No. It covers the gap between the lead coming in and your team picking up the phone: nights, weekends, lunch, and the busy hour when everyone's on a job. Your staff still makes the calls.
What do I see each month?
Every Monday for your first month, then monthly: leads in, median first-response time, replies, leads handed to you, booked, missed calls recovered, opt-outs, and revenue you logged yourself. We never estimate revenue.
Is texting leads legal?
Yes, when it's done right. We only text people who reached out to you, include opt-out instructions, honor STOP immediately, and send through a registered 10DLC number. Your lead forms should include consent language for texts; we'll give you wording to add. Email support@leadduck.net.
